How iBac OVS works:

OVS uses the iBac continuous backup engine to sync up the volumes or selected data set before the backup is finalized. First iBac copies all the files, when these files are being backed up all changes made to any file which is part of the data set are stored in a buffer file. Once the initial backup is done all the changes from the buffer file are applied to the backup to sync up the data. Once the Data is in sync iBac monitors the file system for any changes, if there are no changes for a period of 3 seconds “"quiescent period"” the backup is finalized and finished.
